We do not accept self-prepared or third-party prepared crypto tax reports for tax return preparation. Crypto tax return clients must use our crypto account reconciliation service, unless you have no taxable crypto transactions (i.e., only purchasing with USD and/or holding crypto) during the tax year or our risk assessment confirms your existing records are sufficient. 2026 services will be performed year-end when the required information is available.
The starting price is not a fixed fee arrangement. A fee assessment will be performed after we have received all your information and can see the full picture of your situation. We will let you know if an additional fee is required and get your approval before proceeding with any additional work.
Everybody's situation is different. It is impossible for us to set a "one size fits all" fixed fee at the beginning. Some complexities may only become apparent during detailed reconciliation and after we have received all the necessary information. If material issues require additional time beyond the initial budget included in the starting price, we will discuss any proposed scope or fee adjustments with you before performing additional work.
Tax planning and advisory services are available separately if you need additional or ongoing support. There is no upfront payment or charge unless you use the service.
Services used will be billed monthly at our standard hourly rate.
Form 1099-DA reports gross proceeds. Cost basis is reported only for certain assets bought in the same account on or after January 1, 2026. Assets bought earlier or moved between wallets and exchanges often show no basis. This means the IRS may see numbers that do not reflect your actual taxable gain, unless your records are properly reconciled and reviewed.
Without proper reconciliation:
Complex crypto activity often requires wallet-level reconciliation and expert review to produce complete, accurate, and defensible tax reporting.
Use the comparison above as a starting point. Most new clients start with the Crypto Tax Risk Assessment. If you're unsure which plan fits your situation, schedule a 15-minute pre-engagement call and we'll explain the differences and next steps.
In many cases, yes. Crypto tax software relies on the data provided and does not verify completeness or accuracy. Missing transactions, incorrect cost basis, or misclassified transfers can still result in inaccurate reporting.
The starting price covers up to 6 hours of crypto reconciliation work. After receiving your records, we confirm whether the engagement fits within that scope. If more work is needed, we will explain the additional scope and fees and obtain your approval before proceeding.
For accurate and defensible reporting, all crypto activity must be reviewed and reconciled under our methodology. We do not rely on self-prepared or third-party reports without performing our own validation to ensure completeness and consistency.
Not every client is a fit for every firm, and that's a good thing. See how we ensure each engagement is built on the right alignment of goals, values, and expectations.

We review and align your crypto transactions across wallets and exchanges, then reconcile them to your accounting records to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Full Crypto and Fiat Accounting adds up to 20 professional hours of year-end fiat accounting cleanup. If additional complexity or work outside the standard scope is identified after reviewing your records, we will discuss the scope and obtain your approval before proceeding with any fee adjustments.
